One Act Play Festival

TheatreWorks Community Players is pleased to announce our One-Act Play Festival for Spring 2024!

Everyone is invited to submit an original one-act play to be performed on our BlackBox theatre stage.

Here are the details:

3 plays selected - $100 prize for each winner
Original (in its entirety) one-act play by one playwright (no collaborations or adaptations)
Play must be unpublished and unproduced
One submission per person
PG rating (no obscenity)
30 minutes max. run time
Single scene, minimal stage set
Provide own props/costumes or use available from BlackBox supplies
5 min. setup/take down between plays
Playwrights are encouraged to serve as director of own work (directing support available)
Send submissions (.PDF format) to twcpproduction@gmail.com, include name and contact information
Scripts should be in standard format (such as Dramatists Guide Modern Stage Play)
Text should be in 12 pt. type in standard font (such as New Times Roman)
Script should include page numbers at bottom
Playwright’s name must not appear anywhere in the script
Do not include resumes, playwright’s biographies or history of the play
Please include page with character breakdowns (age, gender, etc.)
