The Shape of Things

August 9, 10, 11, 16, 17, 18

The Shape of Things by Neil Labute is a show about boundaries, love, art, and the subjectivity of it all. It follows four characters in a small, college town: Adam, Evelyn, Jenny, and Fiona. Adam is an English major and part-time security guard for the college's museum, where he meets Evelyn who is an art major. Jenny and Fiona are the fellow engaged classmates and friends of Adam's. The story unfolds over the course of their Spring semester as all four deal with the intricacies of their relationships to and with each other. The play explores themes of comedy, betrayal, social expectations, and just how far someone is willing to go and how much they are willing to change for the person they love.
